Empowerment is a multi-dimensional process which should enable individuals or a group of individuals to Realize their full identity and powers in all spheres of life according to websters dictionary the word empowerment indicates the situation of authority or to be authorized or to be powerful.
Empowerment is a process that gives a person freedom in decision making.
2. Definition :-
Empowerment is viewed as a process: the mechanism by which people , organization and communities gain mastery over their life .
Sociology empowerment often addresses members of group that social discrimination processes have excluded from decision making process through
for example – the discrimination based on disability, Race ethnicity, religion or Gender.
Empowerment as a methodology is also associated with feminism .
3. Meaning of Women Empowerment :-
women empowerment is the way or a social action in which women elaborated and recreated what it is to be in a circumstances that they previously were denied .
Empowerment can be defined in many ways , however, when talking about women’s empowerment, empowerment means accepting and allowing people (women) who are on the outside of the decision-making process into it .
4. Need for women Empowerment :-
Almost every country , no matter how progressive has a history of ill-treating women .
In other words, women from all over the world have been rebellious to reach the status they have today . While the western countries are still making progress .
Third world countries like India still lack behind in women empowerment.
In India women empowerment is needed more than ever. India is almost the countries which are not safe for women. There are are various reason for this.
Firstly , women in India are in dangerous of honour killing . Their families think its right to take their lives if they bring shame to the reputation of their legacy.
5. How to Empower Women :-
There are various ways in how one can empower women. The individual and government must both come together to make it happen.
Education for girls must be made compulsory so that women can become illiterate to make a life for themselves .
Women must be given equal opportunity in every field , irrespective of gender. Moreover, they must also be given equal pay. We can empower women by abolishing child marriage .
Various programs must be held where they can be taught skill to fend for themselves in case they face financial crisis .
6. What is Women Empowerment :-
Accordingly, empowerment is central to the processes of maintaining the benefits of women at an individual , household , community and borders levels .
It involves the action of boosting the status of women through literacy , education , training and raising awareness (Alvarez and Lopez) hence , women’s empowerment is all about allowing and equipping women to make life determining choice across different issue in the country.
We all know the ratio of girls is less as compare to boys in our country, India. And it is to do the orthodox mentality of society who wants to have boys and not girls .
In true sense, patriarchy has decided the course of woman’s life throughout ages .

The renowned Swami Vivekananda quotes ,
“There is no change for the Welfare of the world unless the condition of women is improved. It is not possible for a bird to fly on only one wing .”
Women empowerment has become a must raised and discussion topic around the globe. But why is it necessary and why are we trying to fill this gender gap ?
what is gender gap? why are women not given that equality level and trust in the society ! why even in the 21st century women still have to run for their rights .
8. Benefits of Women Empowerment :-
- they are able to load their lives with dignity and freedom .
- It add ads to their self esteem and self confidence.
- it gives them a distinct identity of their own.
- They are able to gain respectable position in society .
- Country’s resource are fairly and equally acceptable to them.
9. The necessity of Women Empowerment :-
- Injustice and gender bias and inequalities cannot be removed without women empowerment.
- It provides legal protection for women.
- It also provides them with a safe working empowerment .
- Women cannot enjoy security and protection in life it they are not empowered .
- Women need to be provided equal opportunities for work to produce a just and progressive society .
10. Conclusion :-
Women empowerment is the biggest think to improve the women’s condition . That is the increase of our country’s situation .
So please encourage the women for think to own rights and security .😊😊😊
