संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघ (U.N.O.)
विश्व में दो बड़े युद्ध हुए जिन्हें विश्व युद्ध कहा जाता है।
इन युद्धों में विश्व के अधिकांश देश दो गुटों में बॅंटकर लड़े थे।
प्रथम विश्व युद्ध सन् 1914 से सन् 1919 तक तथा द्वितीय विश्व युद्ध सन् 1939 से सन् 1945 तक हुआ था।
इन युद्धों में घातक हथियारों का प्रयोग हुआ।
इनमें लाखों सैनिकों के अलावा अनेक निर्दोष नागरिक भी मारे गए।
अपार सम्पत्ति का नुकसान हुआ।
परमाणु बम के प्रयोग ने मनुष्य जाति को खतरे में डाल दिया। ।
जब ये युद्ध हो रहे थे तभी से इन युद्धों के भयानक परिणाम से लोगों को बचाने के लिए विभिन्न देशों के लोगों ने विचार करना शुरू कर दिया था।
संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघ की स्थापना –
विश्व में विभिन्न देशों के बीच के विवादों को शांतिपूर्ण तरीके से हल करने,
मानव कल्याणकारी कार्यों को विश्व में बढ़ावा देने तथा परस्पर सहयोग से विकास के लिए विश्व के कई देशों ने मिल जुलकर संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघ की स्थापना की।
50 देशों ने 26 जून सन् 1945 में एक नियमावली (चार्टर) पर हस्ताक्षर कर इस संस्था की स्थापना की।
24 अक्टूबर सन् 1945 से यह संस्था विधिवत् काम करने लगी।
इसलिए प्रतिवर्ष 24 अक्टूबर को संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघ दिवस मनाया जाता है।
धीरे-धीरे अन्य देश भी इसके सदस्य बनते गए। सन् 2011 की स्थिति में 193 देश इसके सदस्य हैं।
संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघ के उद्देश्यः-
चार्टर के अनुसार संघ के निम्नलिखित उद्देश्य हैं-
1. विश्व में शांति और सुरक्षा बनाए रखना।
2 दुनिया के देशों के बीच बराबरी एवं मित्रतापूर्ण संबंध विकसित करना।
3. अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर आर्थिक, सामाजिक, सांस्कृतिक एवं मानवीय समस्याओं का समाधान करना।
4. मानव अधिकारों तथा बुनियादी स्वतंत्रताओं को प्राप्त करने में सहयोग करना।
संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघ के सिद्धांत-
अपने उद्देश्यों की पूर्ति करने के लिए संघ ने निम्नलिखित सिद्धांतों का पालन करने का निर्णय लिया :-
1. आपसी विवादों को शांतिपूर्ण ढंग से सुलझाएँगे।
2. किसी राष्ट्र के विरुद्ध कोई राष्ट्र बल प्रयोग नहीं करेगा।
3. यदि कोई राष्ट्र अन्य राष्ट्र पर आक्रमण करता है तो संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघ उसका विरोध करेगा।
4. नियमावली की शर्तों का सभी सदस्य देश निष्ठापूर्वक पालन करेंगे।
संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघ के अंग :-
संघ के प्रमुख 6 अंग हैं :-
1. सामान्य सभा
2. सुरक्षा परिषद्
3. आर्थिक एवं सामाजिक परिषद्
4. न्यास परिषद्
5. अंतर्राष्ट्रीय न्यायालय
6: सचिवालय
विश्व के विभिन्न देशों में स्थापित कार्यालयों के द्वारा ये अंग संघ के उद्देश्यों की पूर्ति में लगे हैं।
संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघ के 5. स्थाई सदस्य है-

2. फ्रांस
3. रूस
4 संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका
5. ग्रेट ब्रिटेन
विशेष संस्थाएँ :-
सामाजिक एवं आर्थिक विकास के क्षेत्र में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय सहयोग का संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघ के लिए विशेष महत्व है।
विकास हेतु समुचित परिस्थितियों के निर्माण के लिए संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघ ने अनेक विशेष संस्थाओं की स्थापना की है
जो अपने विशिष्ट क्षेत्र में कार्य करती हैं।
ये दुनिया के विभिन्न देशों में स्वास्थ्य एवं शिक्षा के प्रसार के साथ-साथ लोगों का जीवनस्तर ऊँचा उठाने, पूर्ण रोजगार देने आदि के कार्य कर रही है।
इसकी प्रमुख संस्थाएँ निम्नलिखित हैं :-
संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघ की कुछ विशेष संस्थाएँ-
1. अंतर्राष्ट्रीय श्रम संगठन (International Labour Organisation)
2. खाद्य एवं कृषि परिषद (Food & Agriculture Organisation)
3. अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मुद्रा कोष (International Monetary Fund)
4. विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन (World Health Organisation)
5. यूनिसेफ (United Nation of Integrated Child Education Fund)
6. यूनेस्को (United Nation of Education Science and Cultural Organisation)
संघ की ये संस्थाएँ विभिन्न देशों में वहाँ की सरकार और अन्य संगठनों के सहयोग से विकास के विभिन्न कार्य करती हैं।

हमारे देश में चलाया जा रहा पोलियो टीकाकरण अभियान विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन के पोलियो उन्मूलन कार्यक्रम का हिस्सा है।
विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन एवं यूनिसेफ –
विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन एवं यूनिसेफ द्वारा हमारे देश की तरह अन्य देशों में भी पोलियो के वायरस (विषाणु) को समाप्त करने हेतु पोलियो टीकाकरण कार्यक्रम चलाया जा रहा है।
गाँवों या शहरों में गर्भवती माताओं और छोटे बच्चों को पोलियो, टिटनेस, खसरा, कुकुर खाँसी, डिप्थीरिया (गलघोटू) और तपेदिक जैसे रोगों से बचाने के लिए विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन और यूनिसेफ मिलकर टीकाकरण अभियान चला रहे हैं।
विभिन्न देशों में (जिसमें हमारा देश भारत भी शामिल है) सबके लिए शिक्षा, बालिका शिक्षा, प्रौढ शिक्षा और साक्षरता तथा वैज्ञानिक और तकनीकी शिक्षा के प्रचार-प्रसार के लिए यूनेस्को नामक संस्था काम कर रही है।
संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघ की सेना –
संघ की कोई सेना नहीं होती।
सदस्य देशों के सैनिकों को ही संयुक्त राष्ट्र विशेष कार्यों के लिए उपयोग में लेता हैं।
दो देशों में अथवा देश के भीतर विवादों को शांतिपूर्ण ढंग से हल करने के लिए अंतर्राष्ट्रीय शांति सेना गठित की जाती है।
जैसे अफगानिस्तान में शांति स्थापित करने के लिए भेजी गई शांति सेना में भारत के सैनिक भी शामिल थे।
संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघ में भारत की भूमिका :-
भारत संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघ के संस्थापक देशों में से है।
संघ के उद्देश्यों और सिद्धांतों को बनाने में उसने महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई है।
भारत अनेक बार संघ के विभिन्न अंगों का सदस्य रह चुका है।
लोकतंत्र की बहाली, रंगभेद दूर करने, शांति व्यवस्था बनाने के लिए सैन्य कार्यवाही के लिए भारत ने संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघ को सहयोग दिया है।
चूँकि भारत में कई सामाजिक एवं आर्थिक समस्याएँ हैं
